It was a great summer, and I hope it was for all of you as well. A very sincere thank you to everyone who has visited and ordered from my site.
🔥 The Chaos
I last left off with a mention of alignment tools. It turns out I had a misconception about their intended purpose. I saw a competitor's alignment tools and assumed they were centering tools, until I watched his demonstration video. Oops. But that led me down another path, which I'll explain next...
⚙️ From the Bench
What I actually created aren't alignment tools, they're centralizers.
Have you ever had to drill out a JoPo or Turbo IT outer? I just made that a whole lot easier. My RDTL IT Centralizing Tools align the bore of the installed IT to the axis of the drill press. The result is a 1-1/2" hole drilled perfectly centered in the existing bore, and a drill operation that removes only the installed outer without cutting into the existing 1-1/2" hole. No need to plug and redrill when replacing or swapping IT outers.
There are two versions, one for JoPo IT outers and one for Turbo IT outers. Both use the same 1-1/2" hole, but the inner diameters of the outers differ slightly. I also added a brim so they can be used to install the outers as well.
They'll be available soon in my shop. Stay tuned...
Once I realized what alignment rods were really for, I had to give myself a kick in the rear. I never published one of my simple but effective tools that I've been giving away with first-time orders: the RDTL Hole-Center Marking Tool for Std Grips.
Line up the horizontal and vertical lines, then scribe the center. Now you have a mark to line up the center of your drill bit. No rods or magnets needed. I've since made sizes for 1-1/4", 1-3/8", and 1-1/2". Let me know if you'd be interested in these and which sizes would be most useful.
And in case you had your heart set on a set of alignment rods, I've got you covered there too.

I added a Concept Shop & Coming Soon page to my site where you can vote on my ideas. Enough thumbs up and the concepts move to coming soon and I start printing inventory.
The drill bit carousel is getting close. I changed things up and redesigned it with three tiers, a center bearing, and a fabricated steel mounting arm. A few small revisions and it goes into production, so it should be available in my shop soon.
One last quick note: the RDTL Jig Centering Tool is now available with an MT2 taper shaft for those of you with an MT2 chuck.
Peace out, and breathe, breathe in the air.

Crafted with accuracy. Fueled by curiosity.
